- IPv6 is an abbreviation for Internet Protocol version 6.
- IPv4 is the version currently in place and still in use.
- IPv4 is based on a 32-bit system that provides approximately 3.4 billion IP addresses.
- With the expansion of the Internet and the huge number of devices that use IP addresses, we are rapidly running out.
- So IPv6 is a new system, which will, among other things, increase the number of available IP addresses by a huge amount.
