When you're in the world of

- In networking
- SSID or service set identifier is a more complex way to say network name.
- So your SSID is the name you can assign to your network.
- If you log into your router, you can see the SSID or choose a new one under Wireless.
- An SSID is not required but it does make it easier for you to find your network.
- In our example, you could see the SSID's of all my neighbors when looking from my Droid.
- The SSID has no impact on the security of your network.
