As you cruise around the Internet you can't help but see the term "

shareware

." Sounds lovely, but what is it? Shareware isn't a type of software, but simply a marketing concept for selling software. With shareware, you get to try it before you buy it. The term "shareware" has fallen out of favor somewhat, but it's a strategy that's still in wide use today, whatever you call it.
