What is the iPad 2

The original iPad was a huge success for Apple, which explains why roughly a year later they released the

new and improved iPad 2

. The iPad 2 offers several improvements including being physically lighter and thinner. This means that the new iPad is even more portable and even easier to work with and carry on the go. The downside is that many iPad accessories such as carrying cases won't fit the iPad 2.

On the front, you'll see that the screen is still the same size and is, in fact, the same resolution as well. The new iPad 2 does however boast two cameras, one on the front that takes VGA-quality video and is primarily used for FaceTime, and one on the back that is capable of taking higher quality pictures and 720p video.

On the right side, you'll find volume controls as well as a switch that works to either lock orientation or work as a mute button. Along the top, you'll find a headphone jack and a power switch. On the bottom, you'll find a universal connector port as well as speakers that now face slightly back.

The iPad 2 also features a better processor that can perform tasks faster, process better graphics and generally improve performance. There're is also a gyroscope that improves motion controls for when you're moving the iPad to work in an app. There are, of course, more accessories available for the new iPad 2 as well.
