When you get into the world of wireless networking a key concern should always be security. Is your network secure? Can other people access your network from the sidewalk or the street? Show Notes

- WPA stands for WiFi Protected Access.

- WPA is used to protect wireless networks.

- WPA was created because many weaknesses were found in in WEP protection, which stands for Wired Equivalent Privacy.

- It was found that with free tools downloaded from the Internet, most WEP-protected connections could be broken in just minutes.

- WPA was followed by WPA2, which is even more secure.

- We at butterscotch.com recommend you use WPA or WPA2 security on your wireless network.

- In your wireless router setup, you should find either WPA or WPA2. If you have it available, use WPA2 Personal.
