Windows 7's new taskbar

Every version of Windows has had the taskbar, and Windows 7 is no different. The taskbar had certain uses, but it wasn't always useful enough. In Windows 7 all that has changed. The taskbar is bigger, sexier, and it provides functions that your old Windows taskbar could only dream of. The taskbar in Windows 7 is extremely useful and you have control over how it works.

- Notice that the default Taskbar in Windows 7 is taller by default than all previous versions.

- The Aero Peek function makes it possible for you to hover over any icon in the Taskbar and see a thumbnail of all windows that relate to that program.

- You can pin programs to the Taskbar and they'll stay there even when you close the program.

- You can drag programs from any place and drop them in the Taskbar where they are automatically pinned.

- When you no longer want a program in the Taskbar just right-click and select unpin.

- The Taskbar can now be used as a launch bar, similar to the OS X Dock, by placing the programs you use most in the Taskbar.
